W126 power seat problem, 560 SEL

My passenger seat is not working right. More than that, it keep running. On the advise here I took apart the switches. They looked new and clean. I cleaned them anyway and made sure none of the ball bearing came out, etc. After doing so. Same issue, which is:

Head rest intermittent, but usually works.

Back rest tilt works fine 100%

Front edge of seat up/down works 100%

Back edge of seat up/down - no go

Forward/back motion - no go

Weird: One motor, either rear up/down or the forward/back function keeps trying to operate for a second or two, then stops, then repeats over and over. I can see the cable tension up. Also when trying to operate the rear up/down I can see a cable tension. Its like the seat wants to move, but can not. Next I will lube the tracks (again). But my concern is the endless loop on of the motors is doing.

If it helps, memory seating is a no-go too. Although I never tried it with the passenger seat hooked-up in its endless loop issue. I will do so.

BTW, you have NO idea how much "fun" it is to remove one of these seats when the back is all the way down and the seat is all the way back!

Found a problem. I diving in to check the harness and found a few cuts. Noting went through, but some monkey had a blade in that part of the kick panel. I also found two grey wires. One solid grey, one grey with black dashes. These where clean cut and also went up into the door. Reconnected, but no clue what they are for. Thinking heated mirror.

But clearly there was not major issue there. But it may have been the result of what I found. I too the seat "computer" out from under it. I opened it up and found a small copper lead had fried. I installed a jumper wire and put it back together.

For a brief moment there was the sound of trumpets as the seat, for the first time, rolled forward on command. Well, until plumes of smoke came from the computer followed by an abrupt halt of the seat. Now it does nothing at all. At least its no longer fighting itself in that endless loop issue. And yes, its now disconnected. I will take the computer out again and see what I can find now. I will put the seat back in and be on the look-out for a new seat controller.
