Introducing "Peachy" My 1991 190E 2.6!

A few of you great people have seen me around either going a few years back working on getting my Son's (Ps2cho) 300TE and 260 upto speed and fixing issues, and my own "cheap'n'cheerful" 1984 190D that is ongoing...
Well, the 190D seems to have slipped from my grasp into the hands of various children, and as it is so loved by them(they are paying their own gas!), I just don't get a look into driving it.... But am expected to fix it!
So, I was kinda looking for something for me... and maybe to pass on to my next driving child(16 now) next year.
I looked at some 300sdl's I liked but what I wanted I cannot afford, and what I could afford was not what I wanted!

I think I struck some gold!
I found this stunning 1991 190E with 88k miles! A California babe I named "Peachy".

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC07683.jpg

No history in my hand yet, but it seems to have spent a lot of its life being pampered and under cover.
The paint is all original from the look. No sign of repair or damage aside from a few chips and door dings. I plan to clean, claybar and lay down a deep coat of wax in the next week.

The interior is immaculate. Seats and carpet are super clean, dash is uncracked, and no sign of the fading that I see on so many. No sign of it having been smoked in. A nice Sony CD player is working nice. Only thing I spotted so far that needs fixing is the drivers seat side needs reattaching to the frame.
All the electric windows work, as does the Moonroof!
The A/C is not working, but the good news, its still R12, so unmolested! A sticker under the hood tells me it was recharged 5 years ago, and dye added, so I will check pressures, and break out the UV lamp.

Mechanics, look good, Oil pressure is 3 bar at anything over 1500rpm and a bit over 1 bar hot at idle. The oil looks ok but I will change it in the next 2 days. Not sure if I will go sythetic or just good old Rotella.
Engine is super clean in general, but signs of some weepage on the valve cover and maybe front cover... all normal stuff.
The Ignition system will be gone thru as its needs it, and the Hoodpad needs replacing.
It is as clean as a whistle underneath, and looks like it had a complete exhaust system recently with a Cat too! Fresh Bilsteins all around bode well too!
More to come later, but wanted to share as I am very pleased!

Merkey 09-15-2010 03:30 PM

So, going thru Peachy today and making a fix list...
My AC tools are in storage, so I will start on some other stuff.

1/ The Power locking is not working at all... I searched for a troubleshooter here but found nothing on the 190... anyone got some pointers for me?

2/ The Exterior mirror foot/mounting are crazed a little... anyone know where I can find them?

3/ Whats is the best Transmission fluid... my son says Redline?

d.delano 09-15-2010 05:58 PM

Great car, they handle nicely.

The locking problem could be the electric vacuum pump underneath the rear seat. Check to see if it's working.

The rubber exterior mirror boots are cracked on mine as well. As far as I can tell you can't buy those things without buying the whole mirror assembly. $$$ Let me know if you can find them separately.

Yes, I would definitely say that Redline D4 Synthetic is the best ATF for the car. Redline anything is ultra-great stuff. I use Redline Shockproof Heavy in my rear differential as well.

I used Shell Rotella Synthetic 5W-40 for a couple of oil changes, it was fine I suppose. However I just switched back to Mobil-1 Synthetic 10W-30 High Mileage and the car seems to like it better. The Rotella is cheaper but seemed to need changing more often. Other people with cars running the M103 engine swear by the Rotella. It's probably all pretty much the same.

Merkey 09-16-2010 12:10 PM

I found a filter and Rotella-T 15-40 locally so i did that yesterday.
The oil I drained didnt look too bad but I love to start with a baseline of fresh fluids all around.
I will order some redline and a filter with my stack of other items.
Changing the oil is always easier with the airfilter housing off, and I wanted to look around and check stuff too.
In doing this I found a vacuum nipple on the front LH side of the intake manifold exposed and sucking air... took me a while to find the pipe that should have been connected and Hey Presto, the Vacuum locks are working again!
I pulled out the plugs, they are the correct non resisters, so clearly someone knew what they were doing at it last service!
Here is how they looked... no deposits from Oil burning I have seen in the past on M103's!
They are in order so note the #1 plug is an odd one because someone had taken it out, and we could not find it.
Here is how they look:
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC07689.jpg

The Plug leads look brand new, so I will strike that from the list for now. The OVP looks fresh as well.
After changing the oil I sat and listened to the engine at idle... its the smoothest M103 in our fleet, and I bet I can balance a quarter on the valve cover!
One thing I did spot is cracks in the front shock mount rubbers... so adding those to my shopping list!

Merkey 09-17-2010 12:54 PM

While I wait for my service stuff to arrive I am gonna figure out some other issues...

Power locks still not working properly and I have questions...
FirstlyI only have the "round headed" key which I believe is called the valet key.
Where can I get a replacement master key?
Should this key unlock the other doors and trunk, cos it will not... and I cant open the gas flap either. I can open the front doors with the key, but the rest do not open, but when I lock it I hear/see all the actuators work inc the trunk.
Without access to the trunk(which was open before..) I cant open the fuel door!
I did search the forums and found this thread dealing with the W124... does this apply to the W201?
http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?t=283635&highlight=door+locks

I cant hear the pump running....
Does the pump apply pressure and vac, or only pressure, and vac supplied by the engine?

d.delano 09-17-2010 10:59 PM

I think the vac pump is there to supply vacuum to stuff like the door locks when the engine is off. Take the title to the dealer and get yourself some new keys. I never hear the pump running either but that may just be because it's quiet. Take the rear seat bench out and use the key on the driver's door or trunk and see if you can hear it run. However, since you only have the valet key that might be the trouble right there.

Merkey 09-18-2010 10:53 AM

Odd, could not get the trunk or gas flap open on Thursday when I posted this, and then suddenly it was opening again...

Merkey 09-18-2010 11:07 AM

Mmmm...
Look what I found locally...
A set of 18x8 Carlsson 2/6's. They are in OK shape, but one will need the rim refinished, and all need the lip clearcoat stripped. Tires are toast but at least i can see if that combo will fit...
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...arlsson2-6.jpg

d.delano 09-18-2010 02:56 PM

yikes good luck but my gut tells me those wheels won't fit without some fender rolling and other stuff

MrBits 09-18-2010 04:26 PM

no Prob

Seeing the black one ps2cho's sig... dealing with 18's / offset issues, may run in the family !
Wishing you a good price on the rims - though IMHO they'd look better on a 126 ;)

Merkey 09-18-2010 04:35 PM

LOL, he inherited my passion for cars and now he is infecting me with the Mercedes bug!
Maybe theywont fit, but the joy of having even worn tires still mounted will prove interesting...
Will try them later today and report back!

Merkey 09-19-2010 12:26 AM

Just for fun....

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC07698.jpg

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC07701.jpg

I realized after I put them on. that the tires are staggered and I had reversed them... I put the 245/40's on the front and the 235/40's on the rear..

Merkey 09-23-2010 02:17 PM

Been busy!
I had a long chat with the PO, and soon I will have all of the service records, original car phone, antenna!
Love that kinda stuff!

I got the temp tags, so I have been driving it, and getting ready to smog. I drives so beautiful! It feels faster than my son's W124's, and yet has a great tight ride. Gonna drive the gas out of it, and change the fuel filter, and refill with some "Top Tier Gas"! :D
Its a real testiment to why we love MB from this era. Well built, and worth the extra work!

I spent a couple of hours at the Junkyard yesterday, and found a replacement tail lamp lens, a cassette holder, and center airvent and surround to replace broken bits.
You can see that the RH vent is missing the control knob, and the RH lower corner of the vent surround is broken, and the LH cassette holder is crunched. too.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...BMiZbSwQ_3.jpg
The taillamp lens is punched in on the inner corner.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...BMiZmdY3_3.jpg

Also found a pair of mirror foot trims that were not cracked like mine... reall happy about that!

Heartbreaking to see so many MB's in there but pleasing to see 300+k miles on odometers! One 300E had 396K on it, and had been rear ended to send it to the graveyard!

Merkey 09-25-2010 04:28 AM

Put the gauges on the A/C and found that I had maybe 20psi static pressure.
I added a can of R12, and within 20 secs the clutch kicked in. A second can gave me cold A/C and a 30psi low and 250psi high and with ambient sitting at 85deg F, I was getting 50deg at the vents!

Two problems today....
The key got stuck in the drivers door lock.. took me 20 mins of sweating and wriggling to get it out..
Whats up with that?

Then the CEL came on... can someone direct me to how to read the codes on this model?

Could be a worn key or worn lock barrel - did you try the spare?

Also, be sure to check the ignition lock. If it is difficult to operate you may want to replace it sooner than later. You can get one from Fastlane/Phil. You will need to provide documentation to get an original - matching lock barrel.

Changing the lock barrel while the key still operates it is an easy and quick (5m) job.

If you get to the point that your key no longer operates the ignition lock - then the job is much harder and involves dismantling the steering column.

Congrats on the 190e. Had ours in the family for over 9 years and still love it.

Merkey 09-25-2010 01:36 PM

Thanks Neil,
Trust me I know all about the worn ignition barrel saga! My son's(Ps2cho) 300TE did that to us, and we learned the hard way... we had to drill/grind it out!
I just got a new master key, and it worked fine in all the locks... and I did wonder if the key was the issue... so I tried the new master key and it stuck too, and took me longer to get it back out!
I posted a new thread cos it just seemed odd how one min it was fine then it was stuck!

Merkey 11-01-2010 04:58 PM

Just an update on the progress...
I have been working thru the list fixing and detailing..

A replacement drivers lock is on order...
I am hoping it will cure the odd locking situation that is going on. We will see.

All fluids and filters changed, even tho they looked fine.
The underside of the car looks amazing... Goodness, I had cars in Europe that looked worse than this in less than one year!
Front flex disc was showing signs of cracking, as were front strut mounts, so they were replaced.
Paint is all cleaned, scratches and chips touched in with the OEM Color.
Then it was a full claybar and double waxed!
The only issue I had was mercedes dont list a touch up paint stick for the cladding which is a different color... anyone solved that issue?

She is glowing!

Next I decided to replace those horrible looking OEM US spec lamps, and satin Black the grill!
Much better!

mbzman 11-01-2010 05:26 PM

Looks great!

Merkey 11-11-2010 02:48 AM

The hoodpad was falling apart, so today I stripped it and replaced the whole thing with a M?B OEM pad....
Looks bad...
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC00149.jpg

Looks good I think!
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC00150.jpg

The Valve cover is starting to peel, and I want to do the Idle/emission hoses..
They are as hard as rock!
I pulled off the Valve cover to do the gasket too..
The internals are IMO "stunningly" clean!

I gave the rest of the intake and FI a clean up and here is how it looked.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC00162.jpg

Its looking good, and I am pleased with my purchase!

Tomorrow I will do the Idle hoses, and check the FI pressures, now its cleaner.

MBeige 11-11-2010 11:32 AM

Nice find, looks to be good inside out.

I'm liking the wide angle lens too :D

Merkey 11-11-2010 12:44 PM

Thanks!
The camera is new(my other one failed the washer and dryer test conducted by my GF:P), and I had not spotted the fact that it as a wide angle lens!
Its a Sony H55 compact 14.1mp... I like it!

The hose from the Valve cover to the head was so brittle it snapped like candy when I pulled it off!

Look, the intake valve spring of cylinder 5 and 6, something brown looks like rust?

Merkey 11-12-2010 11:58 AM

No, its the factory paint spot...
Speaks volumes that the whole thing is so clean inside you can still see them 20 years later!
Clearly the oil was changed regularly!

Merkey 11-12-2010 01:16 PM

Better view of #6 intake spring..

Stripped and painted Valve Cover with "Highlights"!

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...DSC00178ed.jpg

Merkey 11-17-2010 07:24 PM

Pretty much all under the hood is sweet, neat and tidy now.
Did the idle hoses and learned another trick I will post!
Cleaned throttle body, and centered the throttle plate that was a weeny bit off.
Replaced the cap, rotor, supppressor cover and wire protector and guides. Double checked the plug wires, and cleaned the plugs.
Replaced the cracked fan shroud, and flushed the power steering fluid.

I am gonna replace the fuel filter before I check the fuel pressures, then I will check the Duty Cycle.
If all good, its Smog Time!
I still need to do the flex disc, so will get to the underside next week!
Here is how it looks today!

Jim's500E 11-18-2010 11:20 AM

Man, that is a nice one for sure !! Lucky you.

I wished I never let my smoke silver 92' 2.6 190 go, I loved that car...been looking at them again but they are all beat up around here.

Merkey 11-18-2010 01:34 PM

Thanks Jim!
Yeah, I got real lucky with this one.
I am told it was owned by a Hollywood Celeb for most of its life.
I cleaned the paint a little under the hood, now I will have to do it all!

Got a few things to figure out still, like the locking is still playing up.
Also there is an alarm under the rear seat and with the locking not working I have triggered it a couple of times, but it just flashes the lights... no siren. Looking under the hood, there is a "T" shaped rust stain and 2 holes next to the washer reservior that looks like there was a siren mounted... gotta figure out what to do with that!

Jim's500E 11-18-2010 01:49 PM

Any idea who owned it? Gov. Arnold? just kidding... his S600 has been in the MB musuem in Germany for a while now.

...mine was affectionately called 'Smokey'... not because of the color but because it blew smoke on start up :D I still regret not fixing them leaky valves and keeping it.

Merkey 11-18-2010 02:07 PM

Oh, I know who owned it, but if I tell you I would have to kill you!
Lets just say.... from the milage, she didn't M*A*S*H the gas pedal much!:D

Its funny how these Mercedes get under your skin...
Yes, they are well made, but for me, its the little things that make me smile... the switches that you can take apart and clean, and stuff.
The inbuilt safety, even the older ones is a comfort.
My one son has a '92 Civic... and I hate it. Its just a bean can.
I plan to get this one all dialed in for my Daughter who is just 16 to drive next year. I would have prefered a Diesel for her, but try finding a later one of THOSE in great shape and low milage! I wanted Airbag and ABS for her car, and this has them both.

My problem is that I am so "into" getting this 190E in great shape I might just not give it to her if I can find something else... she wanted a Jeep like we found for my GF's daughter a few months back. A super clean 2001 Cherokee Sport with 67k miles. It has Dual Airbags, but no ABS.

Merkey 02-10-2011 06:58 PM

Peachy has been neglected a little due to pressing issues on other cars and family stuff...
I had to replace the Engine on one teenagers 2003 Honda Accord who thought it would be fun to drive it offroad, at speed...
Until....
Opps, who put that rock there, oh and to add insult to injury... lets keep driving it and ignore the warning lamps and smoke until the motor is toast...
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...p/DSC00831.jpg

Next it was that dang Civic boy again... swapping his transmission...
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC00971.jpg

Anyway, I am almost back on track again..
Here is the update...

I did a transmission service on Peachy.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC00958.jpg

Everything was super clean in there... original fluid looked and smelled perfect, but I wanted to be sure.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC00954.jpg

Here is the pan... no junk, not even a speck of dirt!
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC00955.jpg

New filter in, and ready to button up!
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/DSC00959.jpg

While I was under there, I did the transmission Flex disc...
The original one had about 1/4" of play in it and was as hard as concrete... looked like the original!
Video here:
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...h_M4H00949.jpg

Merkey 02-24-2011 12:50 AM

Spent a couple of hoours underneath today, and cleaned the grime off the oil pan and Crossmember.
Didn't even know that the crossmember was body color!

Looks better, but more to do...

Colorado220 02-24-2011 03:49 AM

That is a great looking car, looks like it has been cared for mostly. Glad to see you fixing "Peachy" up!

Merkey 02-24-2011 03:09 PM

Its coming along, but we have had a glut of stuff that is ahead on the priority list. My Daughter will not be getting the car before this summer, so no rush really. Just working thru my list of stuff.
Next pressing issue is my GF's sons Subaru Outback... popped a HG, so the engine has gotta come out to do that properly..:(

I did the transmission service because I wanted to refresh the whole fluid gamut, but also I had noticed a slight flair and noise on the 2/3 shift.
The fluid change did not cure it, so today I am draining the fluid again and putting the K1 shift piston in.

I gotta own up to a mistake too..
In an impulsive moment I stopped by my local Smog station over Christmas, as the car was running faultlessly and warm, I told them to "Pre-test it"..
I had just done a run up to LA, in the traffic with the A/C on and the car did 25mpg... I thought it would sail thru!
What they didn't tell me was that the CA Smog test has changed and everything is now done "Online"... There is no "Pre-test" now... They test it and wait for the numbers back... Pass or fail is sent to them!
Anyway, it failed... and got a GP mark. I was pissed, because they didn't tell me.
Stupidly, I had not put in the new plugs yet, and I had not checked the Duty Cycle...
Here are the numbers:
Pass Limit is bracket number.

@15mph:
Co2 =14.2%
O2 =0.7%
HC =244 PPM (114)
CO =0.49% (0.73)
NO =1519 PPM (549)

@25mph:
Co2 =14.2%
O2 =0.7%
HC =248 PPM (88)
CO =0.45% (0.61)
NO =1350 PPM (507)

So my HC and NO is way out of wack.
The tester told me that he "thought" it might be the EGR valve.

I have checked that the valve opens by applying vacuum, and it opens fine.
I read that the tube between the EGR Valve and intake can get blocked..
With the car running at idle I applied vacuum to the EGR valve and watched it open, and the idle became unstable, so I think its working, but the valve is switched electonically, so maybe something is up there.

I checked the Duty Cycle after, and it was about 30% but because I have a Sears MM, I am not sure if that reads inverted, but I did pull it back to about 50%.

Thoughts/ideas?

Merkey 02-28-2011 11:32 PM

Bump, hoping someone will chime in...

JohnM. 03-01-2011 12:55 AM

High NOx really makes me suspect the CAT. But it can also be caused in part by extremely high combustion temperatures indicating a very LEAN mixture. But since your HC is high but CO is really low (they are inversely related to an extent), I want to say the CAT is looking suspect again, along with your fuel system being a little out of tune.

Check the O2 FIRST, probe it with a VOM, connections are under the passenger floor mats. There are instructions around here for the proper readings. If the O2 checks out then, check duty cycle. Note duty cycle with ignition "on", then with engine idling (warm), and then engine revved above 2500rpms (warm). This will tell us pretty much everything we need to know about how your car is running. If the O2 and duty cycle are within spec, CAT time.

Merkey 03-01-2011 01:09 AM

The cat looks recent, tho they removed the precats....

The lifespan of a replacement aftermarket "Magnaflow" style cat is around 2 years for the purposes of passing emissions, usually. They have probably 1/15th the amount of catalyst and precious metals that the stock cat has. My car has nearly 200K on the original cat and passed last year with .024 with a limit of 3.5 for NOx for comparison. I'm not sure 1991 MY had precats, my 300E doesn't.

Merkey 03-01-2011 02:00 AM

Ok, thanks.
As I said, I adjusted the Duty Cycle from 30% to 50%, but not sure if it was lean or rich... if it was lean, it would maybe explain the readings.
I am midway thru a Subaru Motor build, so whan I have a moment I will check the O2 sensor readings and post them.

JohnM. 03-01-2011 02:39 AM

I dug up my old emissions thread from last year to provide some numbers for reference. After the test I failed in the middle, I replaced the EHA, ECU, and O2 and adjusted Duty Cycle. I just saw your in CA, so your car might have had pre-cats originally.

Hopefully its your O2 and not the cat :)

First E-Test after Purchasing Car (2/23/2008)
HC - 1.6 (Limit 2.5)
CO - 15.6 (Limit 20)
Nox - .017 (Limit 3.5)

Second E-Test Failure (2/26/2010)
HC - 3.2
(Limit 1.5)
CO - 120
(Limit 20)
Nox - .024
(Limit 3.5)

Third E-Test (3/26/2010)

HC - 1.3 (Limit 1.5)
CO - 5.6 (Limit 20)
Nox - .094 (Limit 3.5)

Again, life has been so busy that Peachy has just been sitting under her dust cover...
So, today, I did some stuff.
I had not started her for a month I bet, but she fired first time!
Gave her a good warm up and pulled the plugs as I have a fresh set of non Resisters to go in.

Old plugs after a few hundred miles..

So that is 6psi variance between all six.
Are the numbers good?

MTI 06-02-2011 11:44 AM

Very good compression numbers. The nominal variance is not unusual.

i have to say your car looks great! nothing like a well babied california car :)

Merkey 06-23-2011 10:36 AM

Yeah, I am pretty pleased with it!
Seems like I am doing too much stuff on my other projects, and not getting this done... the clock is ticking!

Merkey 10-29-2011 03:31 AM

Not much progress recently, as I have been studying, and keeping the fleet moving..
My Daughter is not needing the car until next year, so no hurry now, so been doing other stuff!

Just seems that something is always going wrong or to do recently...

Here is my list of achievments/distractions, in case anyone thinks I am being lazy!

Rebuilt a Subaru Outback Boxer Motor.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...u/DSC01442.jpg

Rebuilt the top end, brakes and suspension of my Jeep 5.9.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...s/DSC02054.jpg

Removed and replaced Jeep Cherokee AW4 Transmision.
This is what you dread finding after you get the thing towed home..
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...s/IMG_4813.jpg

Built a 4.6 stroker Jeep Motor.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...s/DSC01358.jpg

My goodness! You've been incredibly busy.

Merkey 03-24-2012 06:49 PM

Summer is coming and maybe my Daughter will get her car if I ever finish her to my satisfaction!
Some of you may have seen I have been working on my 190D, trying to get it running and driving better, as well as diagnosis of the non functional A/C.
Finally got the GF's Range Rover suspension dialed as well as replacing the fuel pump..
Other projects under way are a TH400 transmission rebuild for my Suburban...

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...y/IMG_5500.jpg

And the Airstream is coming along...
The polishing was kinda a priority because I had a leak inside from one of the metal seams... had to polish it before i could seal the joints!
For those of you who might enjoy an update...
Roof polishing progress...

Before...
Note the bad seam joint which I carefully dressed down..
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...m/IMG_5041.jpg

Part done...
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...m/IMG_5043.jpg
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...m/IMG_5042.jpg
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...m/IMG_5044.jpg

Done, but he main roof panel will be painted white, to reflect the heat, so not polishing it.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...m/IMG_5046.jpg

So the rear cap is pretty much done, and hopefully leak free..
Polished and mounted the marker lamps, converted them to LED's, and made a neat little beauty cover for the rearview camera..
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...m/IMG_5114.jpg
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...m/IMG_5067.jpg
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...m/IMG_5078.jpg

Started to do the front too, resealing the joints and window seams as I go.
Hopefully one day I will meet in the middle!
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...m/IMG_5074.jpg

Just didnt want you you guys to think I have been sleeping...

Merkey 03-24-2012 06:50 PM

Anyway, back to Peachy..
Fitted the Bilstien Comfort struts, bump stops, and replaced the Strut mounts.
Checked all the suspension bushes, brakes and cleaned down the wheel arches while I was there... will take some pictures next time I have the wheels off!
Not sure if I mentioned I drained and flushed the coolant and power steering system, as well as the fuel filter.
So now aside from the brake fluid, rear axle oil, which I will do when the front end is done, every fluid and filter is new!

Noticed that the receiver/dryer is leaking from the sight glass!
First time I spotted a puddle of fluid in the glass, I thought I had dropped some fluid there...
Anyone ever seen that before?

http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...IMG_5532-1.jpg

Lucky I have my Snap-on A/C recovery and charge machine to grab whats left of the R12 when I replace the Dryer.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...e/DSC01573.jpg

Guess that might explain why it was low on charge when I got it!

Merkey 03-29-2012 02:53 PM

New parts that arrived, and aside from the Receiver/Drier, they are all on now.
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/IMG_5580.jpg

The side mirror base seals were badly cracked...
Not available seperately, so I looked at the junkyard, and found a pair that looked great!

Before...
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/IMG_5593.jpg

Removed...
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/IMG_5594.jpg

After..
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/IMG_5597.jpg
http://i135.photobucket.com/albums/q...c/IMG_5596.jpg

Kinda puzzled by this little toggle switch in the glovebox..
Has 3 positions, but no idea what it does.. I think there maybe an aftermarket alarm fitted, but no idea where!
