How is the fuel pressure regulator? Hopefully clean and dry at the vacuum end

Time to start working on this again.
Got a compression tester from harbor freight as it is pointless me replacing fuel items without knowing if the overheating incident caused any dead cylinders....Doubt it, but I don't want any guessing. Done one cylinder so far, will do the rest later, but wanted to post this question: When I first did a compression test back in 2009, I had 185psi on cylinder 1, I now have 174/175psi. ![]() Question: Now -- When I did it in 2009, I did not open the throttle, so wondering how much that influences readings? This time I did open throttle. Held it open with screwdriver. Question 2: Any hints from spark plug for rich/lean? Or does it look about normal? ![]() Slightly yellowish on the top...Picture looks more white, but its more of a yellow color.

Cool. Here's other 5 cylinders. Looks like my power problem is fuel system related alone.
At least this puts my mind at rest.... Compressions #'s look great ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So totaled up: #1: 174psi #2: 175psi #3: 175psi #4: 170psi #5: 173psi #6: 180psi All cylinders less than 4% variance.
