Alright....I'd say I obtained 20% more power from the distributor swap alone. I still think there is room for improvement, but that is not to say that a rebuilt distributor won't do wonders for me.

The car wouldn't start initially until I richened the mixture..Only issue is that with the O2 sensor disconnected from the ECU, I am still getting a reading of ~0.88v its really weird...

Anybody ever used Larry @ CIS Flowtech?

You may have already checked this but, how about spray at the fuel injectors? If you had brown in your FD, one or more of your injectors might be partially rusted/clogged/uneven spray. Have you ruled out the throttle plate sensor/microswitch thingy? It might be stuck and sending a WOT signal at idle or something. The EHA shouldn't affect your cars ability to idle even with it unplugged.

This is what I was afraid of.
Put the distributor back in my 300TE and it won't run. The car starts, but dies immediately after accelerator is released

I wonder if whatever could be in the tank of the 260E has destroyed this distributor now? Can't believe this is happening...

perhaps the dist just need cleaned really well?

I read a post about a guy with a fuel delivery problems. He cracked open the fuel lines at the dist and ran the car and all this gunk came out. After that the can ran amazingly well.

I think you should probably do a drain/clean of the 260E's tank/lines though.

Fuel pressures are 3.5bar. Something is blocked...No wonder it won't start.

Gotta concentrate on getting my 300TE back up and running now. I'm gonna try and shoot carb cleaner in the distributor and hopefully dislodge any particles blocking it. Fingers crossed...

Well I say you found you problem on the 260. Fuel filter/fuel tank crud.

Im afraid I dont know too much about the interals of these distributors. You might try blasting soaking it in something? or continually pumping a cleaning agent through it somehow...

Spoke to Larry www.cisflowtech.com tonight...he agrees the sediment has probably clogged the orifices, although he won't know for sure until he receives it and looks inside.

I'm betting though the tank is toast and the fuel filter split, hence the sudden loss of power, mpg and problems. I knew something weird was going on -- not a typical issue. It explains why the KE-Jet system was telling me everything was set and in closed loop...but I was kinda right with it being fuel-related LOL!

Distributor is boxed up and heading out. I will bump thread when I get an update.

I'll tackle the tank when my 300TE is back up and running properly again. Kinda in limbo until then.

Are you sending both distributors out for servicing? You should probably replace the filters and tank screens in both vehicles, just as a preventative measure.

Just the 300TE's for right now. I will have the 260E's later, but its pointless until I get the tank + fuel system cleaned up....which I simply can't do right now. It's gonna have to wait a few months.

It's about time for a new fuel filter on the wagon...been 35k miles since the last.

What a horror story, almost 5 months and numerous R&R and still "to be continued". I am suffering with you.

Got a call from Larry today -- Distributor confirmed to be clogged with rust from the tank.

Everything is now refreshed and on its way back to me...should have it back Friday.. The wagon will be functional again with a refreshed distributor, flow tested and everything.....I am going to put a new fuel filter in before I get the new distributor to make sure everything is perfect.

----------

Then the REAL issue begins.....260E's tank and all lines need to be flushed and cleaned before getting its distributor refurbed.
Regarding this -- what am I going to need to replace parts-wise?

I'd imagine you'd replace the fuel filter and in-tank strainer thing...beyond that I really think that theres is too much.

How much did Larry charge you for the work on the dist?

Larry requested I keep this prices under wraps, but it wasn't too bad, especially compared to buying new.

So the fuel pump can be reused once clean? No upstream items to replace once the lines are flushed clean?

I'll post back once I get the new fuel filter, and distributor back in the 300TE. I'll let you guys know how it runs!
