M117 85 500 sel is out

Have engine on the stand and want to do as much as possible while I have this kind of access.

Getting done:
water pump (current one has corrosion)/thermostat/belts/front and rear seals/wires/dist cap/rotor/injectors/all hoses/ mono valve/timing chain and guides/tensioner/exhaust manifold gasket/plugs/filter/ps pump reseal/ and I know there is more.

I have already rebuilt the "complete front suspension" and now have the 722.3 trans in pieces on the bench. The K1 kit came in today at dealer also the B2 getting new piston etc.

The clutches (except reverse) at 125000... looked really good, only failure is the rear thrust washer in the back of the case. Rebuilding with master kit less steels (Borg Warner clutches), pumps were good also.

There was no metal in the case/pan so I may just flush the convertor also new Behr radiator installed.

Have already done all brakes "complete"
Rebuilt the steering box and yes I did lose my balls (just in case they are 7mm
and can be obtained from "Fastenal" . For $6.00 you get 50.

Flex disc and centers support also complete.

At 125000, think I should replace head gaskets??
Someone suggest new pump and chain (whatcha think)

Anything else??

God Bless
John1

Thumbs up

Well... with all the effort going into this car, I would do it.

Gaskets/bolts are cheap so I would consider a valve job. Plus then you can pull the front cover and replace all the lower rails.
