HVAC form a W126, what year(s) is this from?

Saw this on eBay. Is it Euro only? Older S class? Just curious. And no I am not looking to buy and convert. If even possible. But I do love the better control of the fan speed.

And dual climate control is nice too. They really hacked out some stuff on the US spec cars.

That's the downlevel climate system. The standard car had dual zone semi automatic heat, you could add air conditioning (like that car had), and if you had large wad in your wallet to burn you could get the single zone fully automatic system (which is what all US spec cars have).

The semi automatic system would try to keep the temp coming out of the vents the same, but didn't control air direction or fan speed.

Well I get that, but I prefer control of the fan.

Although I must admit, on auto it does work nearly as good as the system I had in my 73 Mark IV. THAT system was amazing. Same delay when cold for heat too, so no blast of cold air.
