Project car - 2.3 190E - 1992

Hi guys,

Looking at the following two cars as project (doer upper) cars.

I'm leaning toward the 2.3 190E - is 300 000 KM a mileage to be concerned about on that engine ??

Also the other vehicle has sat for 3 years.

Any comments ?

The 2.3 engine was good for 200K+ and then needed an upper end overhaul.

ANY car that has sat for years is going to have MAJOR fuel system issues!

Much depends on how it sat for 2 years.

Yeah thats what I'm skeptical about.

Looks like it sat outside and was just parked up with no prep work done.

Owner says "it doesn't run and I don't know why".

But in one of the photos I caught a glimpse of the spark plugs out. Then in another email he says - "We haven't tried to start it.

My concern is that after that amount of time the engine may have siezed - possible ??
