Automatic seat adjustments

I am not able to adjust my seats in my '90 190E . The controls all work fine except for the back, which will not lower.....but it will go up, which is causing me to lean forward in a very uncomfortable position. Anyone know what the problem could be or how to fix it? Is there not a manual switch or something to control the seats manually? If a car can be made in the earky 90's with almost more automatic functions and features of some of todays cars, then I'm sure the people at Stuttgart thought about a way to manuever around an electrical issue like this.

Get some electric contact cleaner and spray into the holes once the switch knobs have been removed carefully. That should temporarily get the rear part of the bottom cushion to lower.

Then when you have time take the switch out and clean it thoroughly.

During installation once everything is cleaned, apply some die electric grease.

m beige thank you again. those pics are what saved me because as soon as I got the plastic case open everything fell out and I was able to figure out where everything went. I did not have contact cleaner, but what I did do was take some very fine grain sand paper and sand off the dirt or corrosion or whatever it was. the seat works great now. thanks!
