First off, the VIN/Chassis number is one of the same.
As for the construction of the number, the eleventh entry is a letter and not a digit |

They're all digits, some are letters and some are numerals. Even the North American VIN construction is displayed differently in the EPC. For example, my 260E has a VIN starting WDBEA26, while the EPC converts that to WDB124026.

Right, but again that's the chassis number, the VIN is different.
