Question 300E Undercarriage Squeal

Greetings All,

I've got a stumper.. My car is a 1990 300E Base Model. The weather is nice in Florida now, so I drove with the windows down and noticed that when I let off the accelerator, there is a squealing, similar to that of a brake pad wear indicator. I checked the pads and found plenty of meat still on them. I roll with the car in neutral and the squeal goes away. I drop back into gear and no squeal, while the engine is applying force. I let off the accelerator and it squeals until the car stops. What else could cause that squeal?

I changed both flex discs with Lemforder parts last summer. I notice that on accelaration, there is a subtle vibration that feels different than wheels out of balance. I'm going to balance them again and see if it goes away. If it doesn't, I guess I will have to start thinking drive shaft balance.
