How do you remove the gear selector

I just bought a walnut gear selector for my 1995 E320. I have the wood center console out. I have to access the hex nut at the bottom of the chrome shaft. I can't access that until I remove the "PRND32" cover. I can't find anything anywhere on how to remove this piece...

There are four clips around the outside, un-clip these and lift out.
