01 CLK 320 or 99 E300 Turbodiesel

Greetings all,
I am getting ready to buy a "new" MB. I am considering an 01 CLK320 with 77500 miles on it and a good CarFax-$11900 or a 99 E300 Turbodiesel with 118000 miles for $11750 and also has a good CarFax. I am also considering an 02 SLK320 with 56000 miles on it for $13900, also a good CarFax. Any comments?

The turbodiesel will give you better MPG's and the maintenance costs will be lower(no spark plugs and other gasser related parts to replace). I say go for the turbodiesel, you'll be happy i think. It has plenty of power for being a diesel.

Drive all three and buy whatever you like the best, you are trying to compare apples and oranges.

Unless that '99 300 ETD has had the necessary $3K-$5K spent on it in major parts replacements and labor work done to it with that many miles on it, it isn't worth anywhere near $11750 IMO.

This is where records are essential in pricing what you should pay for a used car.

Those are 3 completely different cars!!
Only thing they share is the fact they are made by MB.

Don't trust a c@rfax. It is a tool, and I've seen some really messed-up cars that were sold with a clean c@rfax, their response was "we only guarantee that it will show in the c@rfax report if it was reported to us.".

Look the car over well, have it inspected.
