I've pulled fault codes before before, but It's so long that I've forgotten how. I realize it's probably a pretty dumb question, but would appreciate a refresher.
  • Downloaded Fault Codes manual (linked above).
  • My check engine light is on.
  • 1989 W124 with 8-pole diagnostic connector,
  • Light #4 is solid during idle.
Do I need to count the number of flashes? If so, how do I initiate this process?
