Pretty sure the early 126's were mechanical (came out in what, 1980 or 81 in the US?), so that may be what I am thinking of.
Hope you understand the "who cares" comment now, if you have a 95 it makes it a lot more obvious that you would be best to know, just not on your sig line.

Oh I understand, thing is that I no longer have a '95 car, had one, and a pair of '94s, ... I have two '95 clusters in the garage as light-pipe donors for the earlier cars (late 124s had better gauge lighting than the early ones did).

My sig is a rebellion to all of the people who list cars that they don't own, or that have nothing to do with this forum and are only for status. I got tired of that over on a motorcoach forum I frequented for a decade or so where people started listing everything from how many Harleys they have to boats and aircraft, ... pretty pretentious IMO.

IC, it might be worth considering listing the prior Mercedes you have owned, just for a case like this?
You still have a coach? I drive coach for a living now.

It'd be a loooong list. I had about 25 vehicles before I was 20, including my first motorhome.

AFAIK all W126s have an electronic speedo, even the lowly 280S.
