How much do you spend on maintenance for that V12? Have you added any accessories, like AMG mods to add speed or the removal of the speed governor?

moparmike,

I bought the car last year, and I am still in the process of getting the car where it should be mechanically. I haven't done any mods to it...yet! The engine hasn't caused me any problems (knock on Burl Walnut wood), although I do get an EC light from time to time. I'll tackle that later. I just changed engine mounts this weekend (lots of fun), replaced a faulty steering angle sensor, all filters, stop lamp switch, some body trim, bought the correct third stop lamp, and had a hose fitting for the auxilliary heater circuit replaced by a dealer (I couldn't get to that damn thing). All together, I don't think I've gone over $1,500 including 3 visits to a Benz dealer. Keep in mind I do almost all my own work, so no labor expense to pay. I did invest in a scanner, figure another $550 for that. So...so far it hasn't really been bad. As far as AMG items, I would love a set of Monoblock II wheels, but I don't dare approach the wife with that!

p.s. There are no roads around Chicago that I would even think of doing 155mph on, even without traffic! The limiter can stay intact...until I figure out how to disable it;)

Finally figured out how to lower pixels.

Here's ours, 1984 280SEL Euro

That's Rex on the left and he says: We are just two too sexy Germans:D

Here's my fleet as of two weeks ago:

http://mediaservice.photoisland.com/...4844839837.jpg
In order from left to right: 1992 190e 2.6, 1985 280te Euro, 1980 280se 4spd Euro, 1985 500sel Euro.
I sold the 280se last week, but I have since replaced it with a 1981 300sd. (pictures of the 300SD will be posted when I get it out of the shop)

eandytmp,

I love the bodykit on the E420! Is it a real AMG bodykit? Really nice!

also, great Euro 126s guys. I've always thought that the Euro bumpers just look so much better on the 126 especially..
