1984 190D automatic trans crossed with 1988 190E trans?????

I would like an expert opinion regarding the use of an 84 190 diesel trans torque converter in an 88 190E trans body. I will have to use the diesel flywheel or flex plate, my observations and measurements show this combination will match up fine. My main question and concern is that the diesel torque conv. is physically smaller in dia and no doubt fluid capacity vs the gas conv. Also I realize the gas engine will generate higher rpms much quicker than the diesel. What performance results can I expect with this combination????
