W220 air suspension-down when cold but ok in last week or two-repair needed?

2001 S430. In temps less than 25 F my L rear shock was down over night several times. no code came up and the shock rose on starting. It is fine now.
Will it fail soon/should I fix it now? Or did it get water near a valve and freeze open and perhaps if the water gets out it will never recur?
