Trying to figure Transmission Shift Issue... Help?

Car:
1990 Mercedes 190E, 2.6, with 722.4(I think), and 89k miles.

Issue:
Odd shift from 2/3.
Only occurs when it fully warmed up.
On the shift, it makes a "groan" or grumble. There maybe some vibration, but you hear it more than feel it I think. It feels like it slips... but that just what I sense... there is no slur or slip based on engine speed.
It's only on a medium throttle(1/3 to 2/3). Light throttle you don't feel it, or hear it.
Full or that last 1/3 throttle, it shifts firm and fine.

Work done so far:
Fluid was clean and clear, but I changed it, and filter.
No difference.
Replaced the front flex disc, as it had some wear, and checked the center support and rear flex, and they looked and felt fine.
No difference.
K1 shift kit added.
No difference.

This car is so nice, and I plan to pass it on to my daughter, so I want it right.
I just need to know what it could be.
A Vacuum issue, or modulator issue?

If I have to pull the trans and replace a band or something, I will.

Asking for ideas, suggestions?

Hi, Yes, this is Peachy!
I was gonna post it over on the original thread but figured I would get better info by posting a specific question.
Its not a "Gears Grinding" kinda noise, its a low grumble, and only lasts a split second.
It sounds like a transmission slip, kinda.
I was wondering/hoping someone could help ID it.
When I seach all the results say K1... so I did that, and it didnt cure it!

Not a prob Lee!

Yes, I am pretty sure I did it right.
Here is what I got...

Here is a pic of the inside of the trans... pretty clean..
The spring kit went into the front of the transmission... top LH in the pic below..

right location, right part....

doesn't really take any effort to pull it again and examine the spring and plastic.....

otherwise i would be stumped
