91 300 TE RANDOM ALARM ISSUE

91 300 TE- when I unlock the door and open it, the alarm goes off. I am looking to find the name and understand the action of the thing that is supposed to disable so when I turn the key, the alarm is not triggered by the hinge sensor saying the door was opened. It is seemingly random, sometimes does it, sometimes not. I prefer not to disable the alarm, as I carry client info in the car and I want it as safe as possible. I have read that some others simply disable the alarm and put keyless entry and another alarm on. I will do it as a last resort. Can't I just squirt some oil in the right place? I think the sunroof has been leaking and h20 has corroded some important mechanism, but the door locks and unlocks fine. Yes, I know I can shut the alarm off when it is sounding by turning the key in the trunk, but that is not good as I need to be able to fix this so it works normally. Any ideas or pointers to other threads MUCH appreciated, and thanks for your time. Mike

Unplug the alarm control unit (black box) underneath in the passenger side footwell.

I spent 3 years unlocking and locking the driver's door only. If I unlocked from any other door the alarm would go off, and I was a circus act trying to get it to stop - unlocking and locking the doors until it finally stopped.
I just recently unplugged the alarm unit and it was a great relief! That factory alarm is tragic...
