96 C280 connected vac line, now overheats
I lifted the windshield reservoir and discovered vaccum line on the bottom of that switch was not connected. The line went into the manifold area. I reconnected the line, drove < 2miles and engine temp rose quickly to 115. Lots of "gurgling" sounds coming from dash area. I got home and disconnected that line and now engine temp rises all the way to 120 with both aux. fans running.
I noticed a third nipple on top of that switch under the washer reservoir with no noticable lines in the area. Did I hook up the line to the wrong nipple? Did the thermostat crap out incidentally? ![]()

Got home, checked coolant level and was MT. Filled up with MB coolant tap water mix and temps are normal and CEL not on yet. Thanks MB DOC.
