Ignition dead in off position help!!!

When the ignition is turned off the clock, interior light, radio memory etc do not work, but as soon as the key is turned to any other position everything is back to normal.
I had the back of the ignition switched change 7 weeks ago and it has worked fine since, could it be a faulty part or is it likely to be something else like the interior light fitting?
Any help would be great as it is going back in tomorrow and I don,t know wether to make a fuss or not!!

i cant quite under stand your problem exactly> when you turn the key off the radio loses it memory, and the cabin courtesy light wont come on? but in the acc position every thing works? maybe it is you ignition switch wiring or could be a fuse.

Many thanks for your reply, the problem was a fuse but not the one for that circuit but a main aux fuse!!It had not blown but had cracked due to age, took the electrician 2 hrs to trace fault and he recommends changing all the fuses as a matter of course as cracking is common and can be a nightmare to sort out as they often cause an intermittent fault.
$100 to change a 2c item thats life,I could have dismantled the whole car and still not found it!!!
