Question Kick down on S420

Hi Folks,

Question on an S420 95, 127K miles:

When loaded or going uphill, I notice that when I "floor" the accelerator, sometimes the car kicks down to the lower gear and "skips" or hesitates for a split second, then continues its kick down to the lower gear. It almost feels like I lose fire for a split second.

It does this when I "floor" it while running above 60mph. When I am slow, it does not - and as mentioned, it seems to do it when the car is fully loaded or going uphill.

Someone told me I may need new spark plug wires. Any ideas?
