Looking for "hands on" experience

I found a W123, 240D, at the P&P with a like new windshield. I tried getting one out previously, but it broke. I took the trim off, cut all around from the outside with a box cutter, and tried to push it out - broke it! Looks very difficult to cut it from the inside. Looking for advice.

Every time I've seen someone try to take out a 20+ year old MB window they disintegrate.

I'm guessing the laminates of polymer (or the adhesive) simply can't handle the removal and re-install.

I did exactly as you described but got it out without incident - but I had a helper.

Removed the trim, cut away the gasket from the outside, then two of us pushed at the top and it came loose.

Well YAK, that might be the answer. Last time I had a young helper with me, strong and long legged and I think he pushed too much in the center. I think two people with heavy socks on should push it out. I agree with sjh also, but you can see if the glass is old or new. This glass I would say is less then a year old. Well, we will try it and see. You don't buy it if you break it.
