1998 W210 No Start Oxygen Sensor Code
I have a 1998 W210 with 103K miles. Over the last few weeks the car dies and will not restart. I thought I had a fuel problem and replaced the fuel pump relay. Worked fine for a week. Car now cranks but will not start and have a PO161 code. Do not seem to have any spark. Can an O2 sensor cause a no start?

Sounds like a possible crank position sensor.

Yes It Is
I changed the CPS and it seems to have solved the problem.
Thanks. |

Just an FYI -
O2 sensors are about a 100K service item. They don't prevent the car from starting but usually cause the temperature in the cat convertors to rise. Eventually the media/substrate melts and plugs the convertor.

O2 Sensor
I appreciate the information. Changed CPS and rear O2 sensor. The car has not had such great acceleration in years.
