Help troubleshooting aux fans, late W124

I recently noticed that my right aux fan is not coming on. The left one seems to work fine, coming on when a/c is activated. Here in Socal, the car never overheats but when in 100F degree Las Vegas weather in traffic, it gets close to 115+ on the gauge.

My main question is, are the fans supposed to both come on simultaneously and run together? Or do they operate independently?

And is it likely that I just have one bad fan?

Thanks!

You have a bad fan or bad wiring. They do run together.

Get it warmed up with AC on and wiggle the wires or tap on the top of the fan head with a screwdriver head or mallet and see if it wants to go at all. You can follow the wires from the bottom left (facing forward from the driver's seat) and see if anything looks disconnected or dried out.

It was a bad fan. R&R'd it today and all is well. Thanks!
