103 New Camshaft using old rockers question...

Anyone tried using the old style rockers with a new cold iron camshaft instead of the carbide ($$$$$$$) replacements ?

If intending to have the engine last I'd probably rebuild it with the right parts. Mixing parts from old to new variations is probably not a good idea in critical engine components.

Probably to match the harder surface of the cam.

As a general rule it is always best to replace the rockers if you replace the cam.
