I just got through doing an engine transplant and I can't find a good schematic for the engine vacuum hoses. I think I got some crossed. Does anyone have a decent schematic?

You can get the 126 vacuum schematics gratis from MB here:
www.startekinfo.com Click on "Workshop resources" in the left column Then go to page 2 Select "Model 126 Service Library" Run the online version of the CD and go to your model/year Pull down the PDF for the vacuum diagram. MB has made a gift of the complete service libraries ("CDs") for all of the youngtimer cars, via this web site. Cheers, Gerry |

Except they are charging now. I can nor renew, so I tried to setup a new one. The option for personal use (free) is no longer there. Maybe its just part of the upgrade they are doing. Or the fact that I can no renew is because it really is no longer free.
And keep in mind I never was able to use it. Have a Mac and they use illegal java commands.

I am talking about something TOTALLY different than you are. You are talking about the EPC (parts diagrams/descriptions). The web site you are talking about is http://epc.startekinfo.com
I am talking about the SERVICE MANUALS. I just tried them when I replied to you earlier and they are certainly 100% available. The web site I am talking about is www.startekinfo.com Tried it again just now and it works fine to pull up the service manual, which DOES contain the vacuum diagram. Big difference. |

And I'm not sure where you come up with the fact that they are charging now for the EPC. It is free (although you must enter a credit/debit card number, for authentication purposes not payment) for the US EPC, and $12 for the Euro version of the EPC.
See attached screen shot, which I just made from the EPC web site. I actually will be renewing mine in about 2 weeks... You are correct that the EPC cannot be run natively on Macs. However I get around this using a VMWare virtual machine running Windows XP and Windows 7 on my Mac Pro, and this works fine. Or just use my work PC. Cheers, Gerry |

No, I am NOT talking about: epc.startekinfo.com
When I go here: http://www.startekinfo.com/ It redirects to here: STAR TekInfo In which I try to renew, and can not, or subscribe which gives me this:

And like I said, trying to help the original poster, if you click on "Workshop Resources" in the left column, and follow the rest of my post, you can find the route to the posted service manuals. This will help the original poster with regard to his question on vacuum diagram.
Now, let's get your issue resolved here. You are confusing www.startekinfo.com and their EPC/WIS access with http://epc.startekinfo.com which is the free personal use EPC. The www.startekinfo.com EPC/WIS site is intended for dealers and independent service shops. The http://epc.startekinfo.com site is intended for DIYers and is, indeed, free with a no-charge credit/debit card registration. Two different animals. Cheers, Gerry |

And I can get the manuals as you mentioned to the OP. No issue on the Mac with that at least.

If you weren't talking about the EPC then what were you talking about? The only thing that is offered for free is the EPC. The EPC+WIS on the other site, has NEVER been free. And MB only made the service manuals for the 201, 124, 107, 126 and 123 cars available for free during the past year or so.
So I am not understanding what you said was once free, and then they wanted to charge you for. The only things that are renewable are the EPC (free or $12/year for the Euro version) or the EPC+WIS (which has varying costs per day/week/year/etc.). I got the sense you were confusing the consumer free EPC with the EPC+WIS, which is intended for shop owners and advanced DIYers who need it. The WIS is EXTREMELY complex to learn how to use effectively. The EPC is somewhat more manageable, and quite speedy once you get used to it. So I still am not sure what you were referring to with regard to something being free and then they are now charging for. A lot of people confuse the free EPC with the pay-for-play EPC+WIS, mainly because they are at similar sites and have similar-looking login screens. |
