93 mercedes 300se question

hi... i been hearing a clicking noise from the rear my mercedes 300se. so i move the cv joint axle from side to side drove the car around the block and the noise stop will some tell me what should i expect next thanks for the help.

Once they start making noise you're pretty much done.. You can Try injecting in w/ a large gauge needle some wheel bearing grease and covering the puncture w/ some silicone but i'd start saving for half shafts..
