Most likely is one of the door switches is faulty or loose. Look on the door jams near the strike plate.

Try this. With all the doors closed pull but don't unlatch each door handle. See if interior lights ever come on.
Another possibility is a short in the overhead switch.

On my w210 wagon, the drivers door striker needed to be adjusted. I loosened and slid towards the cabin to snug up the door in the closed position.
Try pushing in the inside of each door to see if you can replicate the issue and determine which door is causing the problem. In my car, the door was not fully depressing the pin switch.

one *can* conclude that the striker needed to be adjusted but it may actually
make things worse if it's the door switch which needed to be replaced in the first place. why? because the striker is to be adjusted to resolve door closure issues, and the door pin adjusted for lighting issues. yes, there is overlapping adjustments but if done in reverse, it'll be like the tail wagging the dog then again, sometimes the striker is just loose enough and if the door has been closed on the seat belt buckle, or other foreign object, then appropriately, it's the striker which needs to be readjusted. it was likely shifted out of position
