Lightbulb W140 Closing door assist redesigned

I am wondering why I couldnt take my W140's Door system and make it run for only 4 seconds every time regardless of anything and if there is a problem with a door (leak) then that door will just simply not close. Therefore you know there is a problem and you can fix it. Dont have to worry about pump running too long and having to adjust it, blah blah blah. Why did it have to be so complicated? Going to do the same for my locking system. any advice?

yep, i'm wondering the same thing... though the system I have in mind, though simpler, will be a bit cumbersome. But it should effectively eliminate any "computer-decision-making-algorithm" out of the loop. The system I have in mind will just make use of whatever triggers the mechanism per door... and 4 separate pumps. 190e locking pumps will do the trick as they are A LOT smaller than the w140 door close pump. Though you'll need 4 so its a bit bigger total.

Why do this at all? Coz all the electronics in my car (submerged), is inop. I'm trying to make a simpler version for all the systems... I could try and use that same pump and not resort to 4 smaller pumps, but then I'd have to figure out how to trigger that "diverter" thing on the pump which supplies vacuum(or pressure... not sure) to a specific door.
