New transmission costs
Has anyone in here replaced a transmission in a W126? If so, what did it cost? The transmission in my 1989 560SEL has lived its last day. I'd like to replace it and want to get a general idea what what it'll cost me.
Thanks!

Depends.....getting one rebuilt properly is about $2500 around here....when mine failed I found a low miles used one for about $300, used another $150 in parts during the process, and had to buy a hoist. So all in all about $550 to do it myself. That was 3 years/37k ago, still shifting great!
