190E Belt Tension> How tight is tight?

Hello,
What's the correct tension for the serpentine belt on the 190E?
I don't have a tension gauge, and unsure of the scale on the belt tensioner body. I'm looking for maximum deflection by light thumb pressure. I have about an inch of deflection in the middle of the longest section of the belt, with no noise, but want to be sure.
