190E Belt Tension> How tight is tight?
Hello,
What's the correct tension for the serpentine belt on the 190E? I don't have a tension gauge, and unsure of the scale on the belt tensioner body. I'm looking for maximum deflection by light thumb pressure. I have about an inch of deflection in the middle of the longest section of the belt, with no noise, but want to be sure. Thanks for your input, Randal

I use the scale on the belt tensioner on my 190E. In the morning I'll check the deflection and if it is different from your one inch I'll let you know. If your AC and alternator are not making noise I'd say that you have it tight enough. Cheers, |
