1986 300E idle and starting issue
I own a 1986 300E v6 I had changed spark plugs that were covered in black see photo and told to give it premium gas. As well as air filter, and worn voltage regulator, and recently the Overload Protection Relay from german auto wrecking yard.
And now since then I have be having issues starting engine , it either shaking then dies, or I have give it gas for 5 mins to warm it up. When idle it typically dies.. I have been putting it park and giving it gas at each stop sigh or light and would like to figure out the problem attached are the photo's of the car engine with the air muffler removed also it's light rough going from 2 to 3 gear but i'm sure that's separate problem with tranny all together. Sounds like the used OVP you bought from a wrecker maybe not up scratch.
if you still have your old one, put that in and see how you go. You should never need to "give the engine gas" to start these cars. Next time you are at the wreckers try and get the proper M.B. 103 engine ignition lead runners to get the leads away from the exhaust. I've seen much worse regulator brushes than the ones in your image. The engine is an I6 (straight six) not a Vee Six. |
