So my AC has come down with a case of sometimers disease some time it's cold and some times it ain't vacuumed and charged it and same result?

Anyone?

when it goes warm....have you ever shut down the engine for a few minutes and then restarted? the compressors cut out if the belt gets wet or if the belt is loose.

Or when it goes warm look to see if the compressor is engaged. Also if the condensor fans are running. Hard to tell what is going on based on this description. Under what conditions does it go warm, like sitting in heavy traffic, or just no rhyme or reason to it, just whenever it "feels" like it it cuts out?

Does a 400E have a klima relay? Sounds like it could be the base module or I've heard that the cable coming off the compressor can decay like the harness wiring, causing random cut-out issues. I had a random cut-out issue on my E500 which, for now, at least, was solved with a "new" base module. They are pretty inexpensive used.
