Alarm! help!!!

Ok, so the car is locked and parked. I unlock and open the passenger door and the alarm goes off. Even if I close the door, lock it, unlock it then open it, the alarm still goes off. I would like to know if there is anything I can do to make it stop because it goes on even when I drive. The problem is, I don't want to disconnect the alarm because to do that I need to cut the plastic holding it on. If there are any fuses I can remove it would help to.

Also, does anybody have any idea why this happened? I just finished installing my new illuminated door sills last week, but it was all fine until today.

BTW - The car in question is a 1988 420sel.

any help would be very welcome!

Peter

You know that happened to me about 4months ago, it nearly drove me insane...Well i don't know y it stopped...but i just let it sit then go thru the whole lock and unlock thing...I guess u could just disconnect the battery then reconnect, try this having the locks locked and another time unlocked....See if that works, I just wish i didn't have that annoying system on my car, too mcuh of a pain. And i'll try and find out what i really did.

Good Luck,

If it's the factory alarm, you can disable it by pulling the lower of the two connectors on the alarm controller under the false firewall in the front passenger footwell. If you don't mind the extra step, unlock the door with the key, pull the door open, turn the key again to the unlock position. That should do it until you replace the switch in the door handle or disable the alarm completely.

If it's not the factory alarm, I don't know how to help you.

I'm interested to know what plastic you have to cut.
