The 1984 thru 1986 190E 2.3 doesn't need this resistor as the ignition timing is adjustable!

Where is the ignition retarder on 500SEC

I own a 85 500SEC euro. Have read many treads on the posibility
to adjust/retard the ignition on my car.
Could anyone please explain to me how to adjust,-or remove the resistor?

Sincerely,

Connect timing light & move distributor, factory spec is 5deg! you can go to 10 deg if you run preminum fuel.

Thanks a bunch. It will be tried this week!!
Still having problems with not beeing able to reach 1st gear.
Not by kickdown,- nor by selecting 2B on shifter.
Do you know if this(2b selected) is a vacum function or an electrical switch?
Thanks again for your outstanding knowledge and helpfullness on the board!!!
