CRote,
I have an 87 300SDL just like you with 100K. You do realize that when you accelerate hard on a turbocharged diesel engine, it will smoke. Mine does the exact same thing; there is nothing wrong with the car. First of all, what has been the service history of the car? When were the fluids last changed (engine oil, transmission oil, coolant, brake system, power steering)? With the mileage on your car, the replacement of timing chain, tensioner, a/c flush are not needed unless there is something wrong with the car. The service manual doesn't list anything with a mandatory replacement of the tensioner or a/c flush. Herb '82 240D '87 300SDL |
