Techron Fuel additive

I have a 85 280SL Euro with 62K on it and started using Techron fuel additive in it about a year ago. I have noticed a measurable improvement since I started using it. My question is: I also have 2004 E320 wagon with only 34K on it and of course it is a very different vehicle from my 27 year old 280SL so is it ok and would it be benificial to also use Techron in my 2004 wagon? If so how often? .....Thanks Desert

Desert, I have read several times that folks using Techron add it to the fuel tank immediately before an oil change because it tends to affect the oil quality. Have no idea whether this is true or not, but something to consider. The use of Chevron gas (with Techron) strikes me as a better alternative.

Techron is as old, tried, trusted and true as any fuel additive out there. The supposed point behind adding it one tank before you change the oil and then running the tank down is because it tends to flush whatever gunk it cleans into the combustion chamber. I've been using it every 5-10k (probably overkill) in my cars for nearly 2 decades. You really shouldn't need to use it if you're running Shell VPower or BP Ultimate, for example, but even in those cases, every 30k is probably a good idea.

The amount of Techron in Chevron gas, when I read the data on it, is exceedingly low. More of a sales gimmick than anything.

Just think of it as a little treat for your car and only buy it when there is a 2-for-1 sale.

Thanks for the feedback, I do use Shell V Power 91 octane so maybe I'll just add the Techron every 10k or so. Thanks again.....Desert
