1989 420SEL fan speed controller location?

I am looking for the Bosch Geblaseregler relay that controls the fan speed on this gen II
W126. I know on a gen I 126 it is very obviously located under the passenger kick panel by the blower motor, but not sure where it is on this car.

There is no relay. There is a voltage regulator mounted in the airbox near the blower motor. It has a big spiney heatsink on it.
