Question Mercedes Cup Holder

I have a 2003 Mercedes Benz C240.
For some reason the cup holder got stuck and is no longer pupping up.
I tried to get it to go up but unsuccessfully it did not worked.
As that compartment has a very little room to work and I do not want to get it worse than now I would like to receive some idea in how to get it working properly. I seems like the mechanism is jammed internally not allowing it to pop up.
Thanks everyone.

If it's like the W210 the mechanism just pops out. Look for a small oblong cutout at the top back edge of the mechanism. Insert a couple of finger tips and pull up smartly. When replacing look for 'hooks' then catch them and push down. The mechanism is designed to work without any lubricant. You might try soaking in warm soapy water to remove any debris.

After doing what Richard suggested me I got the cup holder to the up position.
I found a torsion spring fallen inside of the system but can't see how to install it back without removing the entire cup holder mechanism.
There are no screws and I can't see any clip or any lock that will keep cup holder in place.
The spring seems to be installed under the pop up mechanism but it is not accessible working from the top of the cup holder.
I will appreciate any help in how to get it repaired.

We have, I believe the same cupholder in our w210 wagon. I've always hated that cup holder, and finally took it out when it broke. The existing slot is big enough for a bottle of water. Given the price of a replacement, and how useless and prone to breakage they are, we have no plans to replace it.

How did you take it out ?
Was it possible to take out without brake itself?

I just kind of jammed my hand down in there and wiggled/tugged/jerked it out of there. And yes, it came out in one piece.

As I previously wrote, I want to get the complete unity out of there to see how the torsion spring is installed and after repair, install it back but I did not see how to get the unit carefully removed. I just do not want to get it damaged when removing and installing it back. So I am trying my best in find some help in how to get it removed, repairing and re-installing my cup holder.
Any help will be great.

It's already damaged if there's a piece that fell out. Just grab the darn thing and pull!
