Nah, there's no way low fluid will prevent a start (or cause the car to stall). You could dump all the fluid out of the trans and it would still crank and start, makes no sense at all.
On the no crank, given what has happened at this point, I'd still guess the ignition switch. Normally I would assume it's the starter solenoid due to the no-crank problem, but this wouldn't explain the fact that the car actually quit running. Quit CRANKING yes but not the stall. Plus the cassette style ignition switch is a fairly well-known problem. Gilly

thank you for all your time.. i'm goning to replace the ingition swicth and see if this will cure my problem.. cause today it wouldn't turn over again.. had to jump the starter from under the car again.. thanks dave.

Still curious if trans control unit is actually the shifter. On a 722.6 it really is a control module. Does your car show what gear you are in in the instrument cluster, or only by looking at the shifter itself, because if it shows in the instrument cluster I'd be interested in knowing of it shows you are in P. You could also try putting it in neutral and try starting it in N.
