Car no start
My car is a 1986 300E. It wouldn't start one day so I tested the starter and the solenoid was dead. I got a used starter from the local pnp. I bench tested and it worked fine. Installed it and it turned over fine. Shut if off and pulled the key. All of the dash lights stayed on. Now it won't turn over at all and the dash lights wont go off. Help!
Any ideas? I checked all the fuses and they are fine.

seems like you have a short in your ignition switch, although It would depend on whether or not the "lights" your talking about are warning lights or just "lights" either that or maybe a possible nuetral start switch problem, or relay/ interior ecu control issue.

All of the lights are on. Whether or not they are warning me of something, I don't know. Any links to pages that would show me how to check these things? And yes I know that search is my friend. Which I will do when I have the chance to.

OVP relay perhaps? I think they can cause weird problems like this. I think what dirtyharry meant was are the lights warning lights in the instrument cluster or other lights in the dashboard.
