Plastic noise shroud under engine

after checking out a diy site regarding engine mounts

there appears on the 124 being remounted a plastic noise guard covering the bottom of the engine...my '88 300e has not this thing under the engine (it has everywhere else)..is this normal or has ive been hood winked by the dealer that sold me this..?
