Leaking fuel filter!

I've been putting this job off for a long time, I just don't like dealing with the fuel system it makes me nervous. Well, I got down to it tonight and I used new crush washers and put everything together and snugged it all down. Ran the car, no leaks! Drove around a little and then back into the garage, back up on the jack so I could put the cover back on .. and down I go .. and what do you know? It's leaking. It's VERY minor, but it's weeping a bit of fuel at the fitting, but it's the fuel filter that's leaking. I have tightened it down as much as I can and it is still weeping a bit of fuel. It doesn't drip, just barely wets a paper towel when I put it up there but it's really annoying. I think I will have to buy a new fuel filter.

See at the top of the picture there is that fitting that's threaded into the filter, that's where it's leaking, between the filter and that fitting. There's not much I can do that I haven't done already (tightening till' I'm red in the face).
Anyone ever experience this before?
Should I worry about the weep seeing as how it's so minor?
I don't want to have to do this again, I got all light headed from breathing gas fumes under the car
