w203 Combination Switch

The turn signal / combination switch will not stay in the left turn position. Will not pass state inspection with this problem. Every Mercedes I have ever had, dating back to w110, has had this same problem. On the older cars, it was fixable with a small triangular file and a dab of grease. Is this fixable on a w203, or is this a sealed unit? Weather is too crappy to pull it out and inspect it at the moment.

Hmm

I do not recall this being repairable, but you might google search.
Should be MB# 0005452310

OK, Thanks Roy.

Part is not so expensive so I will just order one.

I will report back if the old one appears to be repairable for this problem.

Just to close the loop on this, W203 turn signal - combination switch is not repairable for this problem. The mechanism that latches it into the left turn or right turn position is made of plastic. Replacement cost of the unit was not too bad. DIY was relatively easy.
