Losing Fuel Pressure

My 87 420SEL Starts fine when cold but after sitting awhile i seem to be losing gas pressure cause i need to turn the key on and off a couple of times before i try to start it to build pressure back up...Where should i start looking for the problem to be so i don't change a lot of unneeded parts.....

I had a hard starting issue that I resolved by replacing the fuel accumulator. My symptoms were lack of fuel pressure after sitting. It is what holds the fuel pressure(from the way I understood it).

VERY simple to replace, on my '89 300SE, its located above the fuel filter

There are also check valves in the fuel pumps. Easily changed without removing the pumps. Your car has 2 pumps. If either of these check valves leak back you will have the hard start problem. if I remember correctly, you can clamp off the small hose coming off the accumulator and then remove the hose from the accumulator. If fuel runs out of the accumulator, it is bad.
