w126 speedo help!
Hey guys just joined up from the Emerald Isle over here to ask some advice!
Been a long time Mercedes fan....had some of the best examples of their cars over the years, 190e 2.5-16, 560sel, G, etc. At the moment my garage holds a superb w126 300se, 2 owners and 54k from new. The only problem which bugs me is the speedo. Sometime's (1 in 3) in the mornings it doesn't come on for about a mile, then will be fine all day. Other times it's fine in the morning but will drop off for 30 seconds during a motorway journey. It's as steady as a rock the rest of the time, no wobbling or noises, no problems out of any other gauges. Anyone any ideas where to start? I've done a search but threads with this problem seem a but short in both senses of the work! cheers |

Answer
My best guess:
* Signal lose, wire or connector damage. * Bad ground to the instrument cluster. * Instrument cluster circuit board damage. .
