W124 Blower Motor: Foam Shield behind Valve Cover

Hello Peaches. It has been some time since my last post, but I have been driving my 300E just about every other week now and am going to be parking the car for 3 weeks while I do lot of needed replacements on the drive train and suspension.

A few months ago, my blower motor died. I am in the process of replacing it right now using the DIY article in the Tech Info Center.

As I was figuring out how to remove one of the final trim pieces, it broken in about 3 places. It was probably very brittle due to ~24years and lots of heat exposure.

Does any one know the part number for this trim piece? It is still order-able or is it now NLA. Any help in the matter or some guidance on where to search for this obscure part would be appreciated.

Thank You,
RB

If you go to the dealer and describe what you're looking for, they'll be able to look it up in the electronic parts catalog (EPC) and give you the price and part number, availability, and obviously order it for you. You can can actually sign up to use this EPC online, if you don't use a mac. It doesn't work for mac computers, I tried

Alright, using the EPC, it looks like I have it down to two possible part numbers:

124 820 08 12
or
124 820 27 12

I am going to see if I can find a part number on the part itself again, my initial search turned up nothing, but I will give it a closer inspection.

Whew !

"Partition panel" [Section 090]
124 820 08 12 $45.00

OR

"Covering, Partition." [Section 090]
124 820 27 12 $41.00

Which is why I went to the recycler's and got one.
(EGRRRRKKK,
BUT I made the mistake of spraying it with one of the Synthetic Rubber(S) in a Rattle Can
WHICH has no resistance to Petroleum products... So I'll coat it with "Rhino" or some such.)

IT IS a very FRAGILE piece of CRAP !

['Shouldn't be too hard to knock one off with sheet Aluminum and spray with "Rhino".]
