OT: Ever use a Topsider on a Camry? HELP!

Attempting to change the oil on my neighbor's '97 Camry 2.2L 4-cyl. I use this tool all the time on my 300SD with no problem. I can't get the tube down into the dipstick housing more than about 10 inches no matter how hard I try. I no not whether the housing narrows or if there is a too-sharp bend in it, but am trying to help a lady on fixed income save some bucks. Anyone have any suggestions, please?
